Enjoyed stay in Shipshewana, Indiana

We thought of checking out living in an Amish community for 3 days, anticipating a simple life and small town atmosphere. We chose Shipshewana, Indiana because it's the heart of northern Indiana Amish country. It is in the township of Newbury, LaGrange County, Indiana. It's best known of its flea markets. Staying in this small town and feeling the atmosphere of living simple and a strong family ties was a wake-up call / realization for me. It's not what you have that will make you happy, it's how you live your life that will give you genuine happiness. Attending their festivities, you will see that they come as family, the joy and appreciation of the moment can be seen in their eyes. They are indeed very happy without the glamorous lifestyle and sorroundings. At 6pm, most establishments are already closed and during Sunday which shows a strong family values because they want all the members of the family be at home and together. I enjoyed our stay there, it's very calm, quiet and the sorroundings unloaded some of my stress. We have such awesome bonding especially when hubby was teaching my son how to swim because the indoor pool of where we stayed became exclusive to us so we have lots of time to stay.

Graceland Memphis Tennessee

Hubby and I got the chance to visit Tennesee twice, first in Memphis then in Nashville. This was during my pregnancy stage and when my son turned 1 year old. We were able to go to Graceland, Elvis Presley's home. Here are some of the photos that we got then.

Mother's Day Dinner

We celebrated mother's day with the traditional brunch with hubby's complete immediate family at my sister in law's house. We were 30 minutes late because we failed to take the earlier mass schedule so after the mass, we drove quickly. Then, hubby thought of having a dinner in not so fancy restaurant because we're still full with what we've eaten earlier.  We drove along Indiana and tried this restaurant which did not disappoint us. Food is ok, affordable and what I like most was the kind of service. I don't know if it's just the server that was assigned to us but I think all of them were trained to give utmost and the best customer service. I liked the idea of leaving a thermos filled with coffee because in that case, customers wouldn't wait for them to come over for refill and sometimes servers forget to ask if customers want their coffee be refilled. If you happen to be on the area of Dyer - St.John -Schererville, try to visit this restaurant, it's good.

Pre-Mother's Day Dinner

My family and my friend's have a pre-mother's day dinner at Applebees. The food are yummy from appetizers to the main course. Our kids have fun and my son behaved so well because his closest buddy was beside him. I was given less distraction and was able to eat better because my son was busy playing with his buddy their favorite gadgets.
